Emotional Health and Wellbeing

At our school, the mental health and wellbeing of every child is a priority. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels happy, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential.

Our Designated Mental Health lead, Mrs Clowes, oversees our whole school approach to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. We believe that good mental health is everyone's responsibility and is embedded throughout school life.

Our approach includes:

* A whole school commitment to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing

* Recognising and marking key awareness events such as Children's Mental Health Week and World Mental Health Day

* Whole school and phase assemblies that promote Resilience, Kindness, Emotional Literacy and Positive Wellbeing

* Having dedicated pupil Wellbeing Warriors, who champion wellbeing initiatives and help promote a positive and supportive school community

* Age-appropriate classroom workshops and learning opportunities across Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2, helping children develop emotional awareness, coping strategies and resilience.

*Targeted emotional and mental health interventions for pupils

* Close liaison with parents, carers and a range of external agencies to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

* Regular consultation and partnership with the schools Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) who provide advice, guidance and early intervention where needed

By working together with children, families and partner agencies, we strive to ensure that every child feels listened to, supported and empowered to thrive both emotionally and academically.
