Connect and Respect

Connect and Respect – Positive Action in Action

This term, our school welcomed Positive Action in Action into school to work with Class 4 as part of the Connect and Respect programme. Over the course of six weeks, pupils took part in a series of engaging and age-appropriate sessions designed to support their personal, social and emotional development.

The programme focused on helping children build strong, respectful relationships and develop the skills they need to navigate everyday situations both in school and online.

Across the six sessions, pupils explored key topics including:

  • Friendship – understanding healthy friendships and how to be a good friend

  • Bullying – recognising bullying behaviour and knowing how to respond and seek support

  • Consent – learning about personal boundaries and respect for themselves and others

  • Gender Stereotypes – challenging stereotypes and celebrating individuality

  • Conflict – developing positive ways to manage disagreements

  • Online Safety – staying safe, respectful and responsible in the digital world

Sessions were interactive and inclusive, encouraging discussion, reflection and participation. Pupils were given opportunities to share ideas, practise problem-solving skills and build confidence in expressing their feelings and opinions.

The Connect and Respect programme supports our school’s commitment to promoting wellbeing, respect and positive relationships, helping children to feel safe, valued and empowered.
