Faith Around Us

LIVE SIMPLY AWARD
Here is the final photo of our wonderful Year 6 children celebrating our success with the Live Simply Award. Well done to the whole school and our families for your support with this.

SINGING IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

Our school choir was invited to Pendleside Hospice which is local to us to .  They sang a variety of Christmas Carols and songs and even had requests for 3 encores!  They sang beautifully and afterwards, the children had the opportunity to speak to some of the ladies and gentlemen who were on the day care unit.  Our children learnt so much from this opportunity and can't wait to visit them again.

KEY STAGE 1 NATIVITIY PRODUCTION

The children in KS1 were amazing in their production of the Nativity.  They reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas at this very special time of year.

The children enjoy learning about other religions, with each class focussing on a different one in the Summer Term. There are also opportunities throughout the year to learn about other cultures, traditions and beliefs.

Also look at our British Values page for more activities building community cohesion in Brierfield.

In December the whole school enjoyed a visit from the Salvation Army. We learnt about their history and what they do today. It was a musical treat, with some great tambourine and woodwind work by the children. The children were delighted to be able to give their toys to the representatives. These toys were donated by the children to go to others who were in hospital or poorly over Christmas, as an extra treat.
