Curriculum
With faith at the heart of our curriculum at Holy Trinity RC Primary School, our vision is to create a nurturing and aspirational learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential as a well-rounded individual — academically, personally, socially and spiritually. We are committed to helping each child become a caring, confident and curious young person, with a genuine enthusiasm for learning and achievement.
We hold high expectations for every pupil, believing that all children can succeed when they are supported, challenged and inspired. Our aim is to provide an engaging, exciting, and empowering curriculum that equips children with the knowledge, skills and values they need for today and tomorrow, enabling them to thrive in an ever-changing world.
At Holy Trinity, our curriculum is designed to:
-
recognise children’s prior learning
-
provide rich, first-hand learning experiences
-
develop strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
build resilience, independence and confidence
-
nurture creativity, curiosity and critical thinking
We strive to tailor our curriculum to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring it is fully inclusive, ambitious and accessible. Every child is recognised as a unique individual, and we celebrate and welcome differences within our diverse school community. Our teaching is underpinned by strong foundations in basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values, preparing children for life beyond primary school and inspiring them to become life-long learners.
We actively promote our Christian values of kindness, respect, trust, resilience, responsibility, friendship and forgiveness, which shape positive attitudes to learning and behaviour. These values support children in developing responsibility for their learning, a strong moral compass, and the confidence to achieve their goals.
Enrichment opportunities are an integral part of our curriculum, ensuring learning is meaningful, engaging and memorable. We believe childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time, where curiosity is celebrated and there are no limits placed on ambition, aspiration or potential.
Community is central to our curriculum. We work in partnership with families and visitors to enrich learning through shared experiences such as assemblies, curriculum celebrations and regular services at Christ Church.
Children leave Holy Trinity with a strong sense of belonging to a close-knit school community, equipped with the confidence, skills and values to make informed decisions, self-evaluate, build meaningful connections and become responsible, compassionate and life-long learners.
At Holy Trinity, we ensure that our curriculum fully complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. This ensures that all pupils, including those with disabilities and special educational needs, are supported to access a high-quality, ambitious and inclusive curriculum that enables them to achieve success, fulfil their potential and flourish.
