Learning a language enriches the curriculum. It provides excitement, enjoyment and challenge for children and teachers, helping to create enthusiastic learners and to develop positive attitudes to language learning through life.

French is taught in the KS 2  classes. The emphasis is on active learning to engage motivation and develop oracy (listening, speaking and spoken interaction) through the use of games, songs and activities.

KS1 French Taster Session

KS1 recently enjoyed an exciting French taster session!

Class 1 focused on learning French greetings and had lots of fun singing "I Can Sing a Rainbow" in French. To finish, they created their own beautiful rainbow artworks inspired by the song.

Class 2 explored a range of French phrases and got creative designing their own French flags. They added illustrations of famous French monuments to their designs, showing off both their artistic and language skills!
