Year 6 Become Mini Cops!

We are delighted to announce that a group of our Year 6 pupils have begun an exciting journey as part of the Mini Cops Programme, delivered in partnership with Lancashire Police.
The Mini Cops Programme is a ten-week initiative designed to help children learn more about policing, community responsibility, personal safety, and the positive role they can play within their local community. Each week focuses on a different theme, giving pupils the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics while developing valuable life skills.
Throughout the programme, our Mini Cops will work closely with police officers, including PCSOs, Police Constables, and Community Beat Officers, who will visit the school each week. These regular visits help to build positive relationships between young people, the police, and the wider community.
Year 6 children will be provided with their own Mini Cops uniform and issued with a warrant card, helping them to feel proud of their role and responsibilities. Over the coming weeks, they will take part in engaging activities, discussions, and challenges that encourage teamwork, leadership, citizenship, and confidence.

The programme will conclude with a special Passing Out Assembly, where parents and families will be invited into school to celebrate the achievements of our Mini Cops alongside the officers who have supported them throughout their journey.
The first session was a fantastic success, and the children were excited to learn about what lies ahead. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and maturity they have already shown and look forward to sharing updates as the programme progresses.
A huge thank you to Lancashire Police for providing this wonderful opportunity for our pupils. We are excited to see our Mini Cops grow in confidence, develop new skills, and become positive role models within our school community.
