London Residential For Year 6

Our Year 6 children have enjoyed an exciting residential visit to the capital, filled with history, science, culture and unforgettable experiences that brought their learning to life beyond the classroom.

The trip began with a cruise along the River Thames, taking in London’s famous sights from the water before enjoying breathtaking panoramic views from the London Eye. Pupils also experienced the magic of the West End with a performance of The Lion King, a firm teacher's favourite.

Exploring London would not have been complete without seeing some of its most iconic landmarks. Children visited Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street, Horse Guards Parade, and enjoyed an underwater adventure at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.

The residential also included visits to two of London’s world-famous museums in South Kensington. At the Science Museum, Year 6 took part in a special space workshop for a truly “Out of this World” experience.

A visit to the British Museum gave pupils the chance to come face to face with the striking “Angel of the North” sculpture by Marc Quinn.

A real highlight of the trip was exploring Westminster Abbey. Children walked through over 1,000 years of history, stood where kings and queens have been crowned, and paid their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

This memorable residential is sure to be an experience Year 6 will talk about for years to come.
